  • Best places to eat in central Florida

Just wanted a list of good places to eat. I will add a couple of my favorites. Please add to the list:

    Johnsons BBQ in Plant City

    Paul's Kitchen in Wauchula

a little road side Mexican place about a mile south of Paul's Kitchen...GREAT Mexican food!

Solomon's Castle in Ono. (Food is not that good but the place is...lets say, unique enough that it should be visited at least once.)

Don't think I've been to Wild turkey...adding it to my list.

I did go to Cherry Pockets once. I downed some shrimp there, about 5 minutes later they wanted out and out and out...never been so sick. I don't think I'll be going back there again.

I can understand that. We've been there once and said never again.

Here's a place that loads you up with plenty of food for a low price. The best part is that it's located on one of the most scenic rides in central Florida.
Orange Grove Family Restaurant in Frostproof on Scenic SR17. East side of the road south end of town. Enjoy. We always do.

Gonna give this a try, I've been to Mannys numerous times. Thanks!

One more favorite place in central Florida is Lake Wales on SR 60 east of US27. It's Mannys Chop House. Good food, good drinks and go early if for dinner. Fast service too.

Manny's Chop House in Haines City, on 27, is a good one as well. So good, be prepared to wait.

Plenty of good places. Crackers in Crystal River, Dixie Crossroads in Titusville, Uncle Kenny's in Clermont, Corky Bells in Palatka, Dam Smoker in Umatila, Gater Joes on Lake Weir and many more.

Lake Harris Hideaway in Eustis is always fun.
Neon Leon in Homassassa springs offers excellent Jumbalia and Zydeco music.
Sleepy Hollow in Floral City is surrounded by some of the best roads in the state, food could be better but its all about the ride anyway really. Jaxsons in Lake Placid has the best burgers in the state.
There is a good Mexican place in downtown San Antonio that is out of this world. Name slips me at the moment. Easy to find as its right next door to the post office.
Reds in Hollywood is a great Breakfast Destination and Stumpknockers is right down the road. Good lunch and dinner.

I have been to Cherry Pockets.
They have live music on certain nights

Think that Mexican food, so good, is Acapulco Cafe, in Zolfo Springs.

There is a good little breakfast/lunch place in the old downtown Clermont off 50 called Cheeser’s Palace that does a great breakfast. Lots of good riding around there too if coming from brooksville or leesburg or orlando

This is not near where anyone would want to go, but there's an English pub/restaurant in Tampa called Mad Dogs and Englishmen on South MacDill Ave. Awesome Shepard's Pie!
