I met Wendy there on my first or second trip, but now that she's living up in S Dakota it's less likely that she'll make the trip. But one can always hope.

Go to Target and buy the same Hoffy Hollywood hotdogs.

Piece of cake for someone with your credentials. Do 750 on the way in, eat, rest, 750 back home and bag another BB1500.

Global warming discussion aside, I can see why. Being snowed in away from home might suck. I think one Death Valley ride home was like that a couple of years ago, as I recall.

Ahhh... the downside of a desert mentality; I never considered the snow aspect.

This year, I've got a trip out that way two weeks later - in the cage.

Unless a minor miracle happens...I have gone from tentative to doubtful.

                  Bite the Wieeenie RTE

Yes, it’s that time again. "Bite the Wieeenie" at Pink’s in Los Angeles, Nov 23, 2019. Hard to believe we have had 18 of these epicurean bombardment Ride-To Eats!

This is the weekend before Thanksgiving Holidays AND it coincides with the Progressive International Motorcycle Show (IMS) in Long Beach, CA (link). On Saturday, Nov 23, 2019, 9:30am-8:00pm, attend the largest motorcycle show on the west coast and at 9PM ride over to Pinks to “Bite The Wieenie”. It’s approximately 33 miles (1+ hours in LA traffic).

PINK'S - HOME OF THE WORLD'S BEST CHILI DOG
Pink's is an honest-to-god Hollywood icon, sub-cultural gathering spot and has been a bonus location for numerous motorcycle rallies. The establishment now knows we are coming and have been extremely welcoming to a parking lot packed with Iron Butt equipped motorcycles.

And the possible 1-hour+ wait at midnight for a $4.50 chili dog is a unique experience. Jacked up pickups, Porsches, pimpmobiles, and junkers all share a miniscule parking lot while stretch limos and Hummers circle the block while their contents wait in the 1-hour+ line. Besides us LDRiders with ATGATT, it would not be unusual to see unique body piercing, facial tattoos, the best body modifications that money can buy, spikes and dreadlocks, prom dresses, grunge street wear and barefoot surfers standing in line.

                  HOT DOG MENU
If you're into hot dogs . . . check this amazing menu out.

The top of the line gastrointestinal bomb is the " LA Chargers Dog”--Two 9″ stretch dogs in one bun topped with mustard, chili, nacho cheese, French-fries and a side of onion rings!!!!!!!! Make a list so when you get to the front of the line, you don't start stuttering, mumbling or talking pig latin.

                  AMAZING EASTERN ATTENDANCE
Over the past decade, we have riders from the south-eastern US, the eastern seaboard, and Canada. Besides riding a 1,000 TO 2,000+ miles for a hot dog they come to experience California’s "Lane Splitting." It’s the most fun you can have with your butt in a continuous maximus sphincter pucker mode!!!!

A small portion of the bikes / riders in attendance. My Wing is bottom right with the yellow corners of my jacket visible on the windshield. To the left is my friend Alex's Concours which he rode from Hermosillo MX. To the left of that is my friend Jason out of Las Vegas.

Directly behind me is Tim Masterson's bike out of Texas. Tim is the founder of the George Wyman Memorial Project. George was the first person to ride a motorcycle from San Francisco to New York City and he did it in 1903, so I guess you could consider him to the Patron Saint of Long Distance motorcycle riders. Tim maintains an excellent site regarding his project at https://wymanmemorialproject.blogspo...ect-goals.html and yes, I am a sponsor of one of the Wyman overnight locations.

By the way, Tim did a "40 in 40" to get to Pink's. He started at the eastern end of I-40 in NC and rode it to the western end in Barstow CA, and he did it in under 40 hours. He then rode from Barstow down to Pink's and wound up plugging a flat tire in the parking lot. You can read about that exploit and others on his person site: https://hardtxrider.blogspot.com/

In the bottom right corner is Danny Dossman's bike, also out of Texas; a renowned motorcycle world traveler.
