I've *never* been a fan of the waxed ones. The last bag I bought (which is what I can't find...grrrr!) from W-M, and they were pink.

    So....

Submitted the application & photos for the Atomic 1000 today. That task is done.

I'll get cranking on the blog update next. Yes, we were only there about an hour...but just driving in and out of that place - and seeing the stuff they tell you to NOT take photographs of...

    Heh.

Yeah, I *know* what that stuff is there for.

Neat ride - glad I was able to ride from New Mexico back home with zero drama. My wife is a trooper, and my whining (remember, no whining in LD riding, damnit!) didn't start until passing the 900 mile mark.

I have *got* to get my wife used to hearing protection. After leaving the range, it was just the earpieces in the helmets, and I didn't find my earplugs (grrr!) Yesterday was a bit of wind noise in my head while -not- moving.

Fun day...18 hours and 1044 miles in the books.

A little sore, but no worse for wear today. Additional details to write up, possibly tomorrow.

Even better. You'll have someone to take your photo at the monument.

What my wife tentatively had scheduled on the 6th isn't going to happen...so, she's considering tagging along.

Looking forward to doing it...the themed rides actually gives a reason to do a ride like this.

Sleeping in your own bed after it's done is a bonus.

Enjoy the ride. I won't be able to go as Brenda has a couple of big and important Dr's appt on the 8th and I need to make sure I'm home in time to take her. It will be the end of a Tour Of Honor ride week for me anyhow, and then I've got a rally in Kingman on the 19th.

My wife quizzed me about this ride...

    "Still doing it?"

    "I'd like to...wanna come along?"

    "Overnight somewhere?"

"Naah - doing it in a single day."

"I'll pass. You have fun, though!"

    "I love you too!" Ahahahaha...

My probable routing - not including the 50-odd miles from the gate to Trinity & Back.

    https://goo.gl/maps/uvcYw1MiDsu

Thanks to a user on another forum on how to show the Trinity routing.

    https://goo.gl/maps/jLfchayiPDq

So, an estimated 7.5 hours of travel time to get to the center access road. Figure a total of three hours (travel time in & out of the facility, plus visit time), then another 8-ish hours home.

That'll be a long day. I really need to be moving by 0300 MST (AZ time) / 0400 MDT (NM time) to make it work for timing.

I think that will be sufficient. They had two sets of guards checking ID during my trip so it does flow fairly well as long as there isn't a large number of people in each vehicle. Remember that your closest place for the receipt is going to be at the General Store in San Antonio either before you hit the site or after.

Having the tracker is crucial to show your time at the site in conjunction with the time on the receipt.
