  • I Need Your Help .... Dealership

Does anyone have knowledge of Pioneer Motorcycles in Winchester, Tennessee especially regarding their service work on GL1800 engines? I need my engine block replaced and know they are a Honda Dealer as well as a Hannigan Dealer. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help. Ride Safe. Doc

P.S. I have been to two Honda Dealers in my area and neither has equipment to handle a trike (Lifts too small) however one gave me an estimate.
    Feel like this :deadhorse:

You may want to do a cost estimate engine swap VRS Tear down and rebuild - Just a thought

      Westdc,

Have already checked that option but with a swap you still have the intensive removal and replacement cost so the comparison is engine cost vs parts and rebuild labor and parts and rebuild is more economical and you have a known engine (mine). Thanks. Ride safe. Doc

        Doc,
Contact Anthony Weaver at Southern Honda in Chattanooga.
That is your best choice given your situation to date in respect to all Options.

Trust me on that and best wishes for a resolution to the issue and back to riding

I'm a little late with this but wanted others to know what great buddies we have on this site. Veritas44 not only made the above suggestion but also sent me a P.M. that he had been in contact with Anthony letting him know my situation and paved the way for me with Southern Honda. Anthony is going to send me an estimate and then we will revisit the issue after my insurance company provides their estimate. FYI, my insurance company has indicated that I am covered and they are waiving my $250 deductible. I'll post when everything is firm. I want to publically thank Veritas44 for his kind assistance and suggest he attend our next RKRI so I can (as big Jim...aka ...Wheels) would say "put a hand shake on ya". Ride Safe. Doc

Good suggestion. I dealt with him once on a blown fork seal.
I can't speak to their work quality because I traded the bike in while I was there!
I can say that they were very courteous and the shop was immaculate!

Are you guys speaking of Southern (Honda) Powersports of Chattanooga??? I have dealt with them a time or two and they seem to do a decent job... Only had some tire work done but they were fast and efficient and courteous as well... I'm in Georgetown, TN - about 35 miles North of Chattanooga...
