  • Keep Al in your thoughts and prayers

Shelley and I just left the hospital where Al was admitted today. That sore leg he was complaining about this weekend turned out to be a blod clot that ended up traveling into his lung. He said they would be keeping him for the next 2-3 days (if they can put up with him that long). He seems to be his old self joking with the nurses and keeping them laughing. Just wanted to let everyone know.
    Thanks,
    Ed & Shelley

Been there done that three times, DVT's they are not a fun experience and hope no one has to go thru one.... Warfarin / Coumidian better know to us DVT folks as Rat Poison / really look at a box of Decon or most other rat poisons... its what keeps us going, it is easy to regulate and I've been riding for 7 years since my first bought after a trip to Alaska on the bike and not enough getting off for exercise coming home. They'll get you on long airplane flights also.... 2 - 4 hours max. in the seat and 30 minutes walking around... Best of luck to you AL get well soon, that Heperin drip in the hospital will get you thinned out.....

Well not much need to get all depressed and sad, might as well laugh and bother the nurses. What will be will be.

I hope you get well, just tell the cute one soon you will be able to catch her. :D Watch out for the ole ugly one that tells you to eat your smushed peas. Lol!

ED, thanks for sharing. My goodness, really sorry to hear this. I'm sure he will be kicking up his heals in no time and making plans for next year's gathering. It was great to see him, along with all those that attended. Please keep us updated.

YOU GOT THAT RIGHT. Being in the sitting position for extended periods of time can be the trigger.

Went to the hospital to see Al this afternoon. He is doing better but I think he has gone thru the entire nursing staff. I think they said something like "we like all of our patients, some when they come.....some when the go". He did ask me to tell everyone "thanks" for all the posts. I think it lifted his spirits as he read them (and laughed at most of them). I thank you too.
