  • Speedo error

When I bought my '13 the speedo was out to lunch. I bought and installed a Healtech speedo healer and fixed it . Install is quite simple and so is setting it up. When I see a cruiser up ahead I want to know how fast I'm going.... Not do math.

Interesting. Was your speedo just off by a few MPH or completely hosed?

I don't work for them or with them but I am pretty sure they have the plug and play adapter for the vtx also. I'm not sure how to place a link here but it is easy enough to google Healtech. It gets a thumbs up from me.

I thought that was fixed with the 2012 models. Mine is spot on.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that the speedo and odometer were off by different amounts. So fixing the speedo doesn't fix the odometer, although I read it on the internet- you can never trust that place.

My '06 speedo has always read high. at 100 miles on the GPS the odometer reads 103. Never bothered to fix it.

Because of this issue I never look at the speedometer on my 08 (or the 03 before it). My eyes are trained to go to the current speed on the Garmin.

I do the same. I think it's easier. BTW, my '02 is off by 5% at 60MPH (speedo reads 63).

I know my 04 is off by 4 MPH, so I just drive and adjust as I cruise.

My 08 is ~4 off as well. I've used the GPS for the actual speed for so long I don't even notice the speedometer anymore.

My 07 was off almost 5mph at 70 mph. I put a 12 o'clock labs Speedo DRD on it to fix it. Works like a champ. and easy install.
