  • Why Not Mag-Connectors?

As I was struggling in the dark, yet again, to connect my J&M headset cord to my helmet, I had a thought. Why doesn't someone make mag-connectors for these headsets, like on an Apple MacBook Pro?

Good idea, but with Bluetooth you don't need and wires.

I have heard from my local dealer that the Bluetooth on the new CTX 1300 is not very good.

Interesting idea! I don't see why it wouldn't work as long as the magnet is strong enough not to come loose in crosswinds.

And with cables you don't need to worry about dead batteries.
Everything is a compromise on one level or another.

I would bet that with mag connectors, J&M lower cables would last longer too.
Walk away from the bike with your helmet on and the mag connector would come loose before stretching the cable too far.

Every system is good and bad, best choice is what works for you. For my situation the cable is the best, I would rather have some other system but don't want to deal with the charging, carrying batteries etc.

Also anything list a V.3 means V.4 or V.5 will replace it soon as well
