  • Foggy windshield . . .

Any ideas on reducing or eliminating foggy windshields? I like Foggy Mountain Breakdown but not so much on my 'shield as I drive to work . . .

I have never had much luck cleaning up a shield that is fogged. but you might try Novus plastic polish on it?
If it's just dull on the surface, you might get lucky with it.

I tried several different polishes on mine with no luck. With our high humidity it happened all the time around here when I'd ride in and out of the cool air pockets. Then, reading this thread I realized that I haven't had a foggy windshield since May when I stopped using everything and started only using my Boner's Bug Buster and Chrome Cleaner micro fiber cloth; and with our humidity that's saying something. I picked it up on the Mid-State ride and nothing else has cleaned my windshield since then.

I have nothing to do with the company and guarantee nothing - but it's worked great for me for cleaning off all the bugs and road grime, with an additional side effect of no foggy or scratched screen. When I got home from the ride I ordered more off the web and will be using them for a good while to come.

Dawn dishwashing liquid. Put it on without water. Rub it all over and then allow to partially dry. Then polish with a soft cotton towel careful not to completely polish it all away. The clean thin coat will prevent fog and condensation. Leaned this many years ago for application to my full face helmet shield. Works great

That's why I keep the stock shield on the lowest setting - it can fog up as much as it wants as I can look over it

We kept a small bottle of it in our bunker gear on the Fire Dept. Used it on the inside of our SCBA' face masks. It works.

If nothing else, you'll have a great windshield cleaner. Keep it damp in a sealed container and it's great for a quick cleaning. When too dirty, throw it in the washing machine.

baby shampoo, dish soap, goop, basically anything that can form a clear film and does not allow condensation. In Colorado we have very little fogging issues on the windshield, but when its a concern, I just use dish soap. Works on helmet visors as well which happens all the time with very cold riding.

I guess I misunderstood the original post. I thought he was talking about fogged, as in old yellowed plastic.

I was talking about condensation FOG, not old yellow crappy fogged windshield. Shoulda been clearer, sorry. Thanks for the tips!!
