I used the garmin TPMS system on my 11650 mile trip recently and it worked perfectly.. I also had the chance to experiment with it ref its option to modify it on the fly to add 2 more monitor caps .. I installed caps 3 and 4 on another bike riding near me and the garmin was able to keep tabs on that bikes tires also,, as long as the other bike stayed in close proximity,, about 10 feet seemed to be maximum
