'12+ GL1800 headlight question

The clear lenses covering the headlights, are they molded to the assembly or removable? How much of the tupperware has to come off?

I think what you are asking is, are the headlight lens and reflectors a single unit. That would be yes with just the bulbs being removable. There is a way of separating the lens from the reflector by heating in an oven. Search for installing HID Projectors and this shows how. Hope this helps.

And, the entire shelter needs to be removed to get the headlight enclosures out. Get Fred's video's or you will brake very expensive plastic.

Yes, get Freds videos. I did it the first time without them. It is doable, but it did require extensive use of my four letter word inventory!

Yes the clear lens is removable. but you can't buy them by themselves!.

Honda won't sell you anything but the complete housing.

You'll have to take the cowls off to change the the headlight housing(s). The cowls come off separately or easier as a pair.

My Cowls off for HID-Projectors.

Yes Sir you may. I am looking into doing the HID projectors mod. When I asked the question I hadn't read your write-up on doing the mod and the description the others had given were vague
for the reasoning of baking the headlight assemblies.

As to the plastics coming off I didn't know if one HAD to remove all the pieces or if it was just easier to do so.
