Just wondering if anyone uses a Madstad windshield on their GL1800 and how do you like it.

    Never heard of that one.
Could you post info on it?
I use the F4+4 with vent.

Here is a link (if it Works). If not, just look at madstad.com. There are shields for several different motorcycles there.

I use the F4 Custom +4 - with vent- excellent- better than National Cycle V Stream which was better than stock but not as good as the F4. Don't know anyone that has the Madstad

I have a custom cut 13" Madstat two piece shield that allows me to look over the shield with no turbulence in my face. Just a slight amount of air like a fan. The height and rake is adjustable. If you are in central FLorida, you can get it installed at their shop and cash gets a big discount. The quality is very good, adjusts with thumbscrews, no rattling. I've had mine about 9 months, still looks like new even dealing with Florida bug population.

Riverdawg, would you recommend a Madstad. How do they work in the rain? I would probably need a custom cut if I got one, too. I wasn't blesssed with much height!

I'd buy it again, no question. Quality is good, price is reasonable. Summertime, I run it all the way down, winter up about a 1". Rain, the air directs a lot over your head, but you do get some sliding up the shield and landing in your lap, but except for my R1200CL BMW, all my bikes did it to some extent. I have to look over the shield as I do a lot of night riding and keeping the shield clear of bugs is a problem. I think I have attached a pict. Black base, light tint top.

Rickahull, Thanks for the info.Interesting but I'll stick with my F4+4 as I like the high windshield.

The key difference I found between a single shield and the 2 piece shield with rake, is the base shield creates an updraft that pushes the air from the top shield up and above your face. This allows you took look several inches over the top shield without having the blast and buffet in your face. If you really push your head up beyond that zone you get the blast, like when you want to clear some rain off your face shield. But like seats and oil and tires, no one product makes everybody happy.

Riverdawg, did this shield make it a quieter ride on the highway?

It is much quieter than the stock height Memphis Shield that came on my bike. I think that shield was the same as the Honda shield except it had a slight tint. I actually cut it down 4" so I could see over it, but the buffeting was bad at highway speeds.

misterk, Schroader's had this bike built like a F6B, with all the Level III stuff of a wing, but no rear box. I had them put the rear box back on but leave all the F6B black out parts, so they are all factory stuff.

Thanks for the info Riverdawg. I'm short enough to have to look through the stock windshield in the lowest position. I'd like to be able to look over it without the wind blast. I've read info about the Madstad but wanted an opinion from someone who used one.

The only thing I might miss is the vent. I use it quite a bit.

I have a Madstad shield and like it. I can tell a huge difference passing trucks on the Interstate, the Madstad has less buffeting. My passenger enjoys it more the higher I raise the shield. Keeping the stock shield height adjustment and adding the extra height and rake of the 2nd shield makes for lots of positions. The downside is you will miss the vent and the Madstad is acrylic and scratches easily.

Can the Honda Spray Clean & Polish be used on the Madstad acrylic or will that create more scratches?

Honda Spray works just fine with a soft cloth.

Anyone using the madstad windshield system on their f6b? Curious how it behaves when riding in the rain? ( I tend to do that more often than I wish) thanks
