  • 2014 Navi Assistance or Help please

Has anyone used the Honda Trip Planner and been able to load the trip into the bikes GPS....?...If so what's the trick...
I saved two trips onto the trip planner SD card, but can't see them on the Navi system

    Cheers

You did name the files (example) Ride one.gpx or any name you choose. From the GPS menu do import route and page thru the files if any till you see the filename you want (highlight) and import.

I wish I could be more help. I tried Honda Trip Planner once and ran screaming back to BaseCamp.

I made up a couple of simple short day rides and had no problems. But Basecamp is by far the superior tool!

OK thanks for all your advice/comments...sorry I haven't responded sooner, just been away on a trip, (on the wing of course)...
This is what I have learned/found...

Saving a route (or a trip for us Aussies) is the easy part, you then export it from trip planner using any name you wish. You will then have a file called xxxx.gpx.

The issue is then where it is saved on the trip planner SD card.

So what I did was to save a trip from the bikes GPS. And would you believe it, it gets saved into a folder named 'Garmin'. In this folder is another folder called gpx, and low and behold inside this is the saved gpx file.

So the trip planner file I exported, I copied it to this folder on the card and presto I could import it into the bikes GPS.

I originally saved the trip planner gpx file to the root of the card, which the GPS unit couldn't see.

Anyhow, I hope this may help others.

              Cheers
              Kev

              P.S.

              What it Basecamp?

                What it Basecamp?
It's Garmin's Trip Planner that is included with any Garmin unit when you buy lifetime time maps or you can download it from inside your Garmin account -Should you have one. Enjoy your trip!
