What windshield do they advertise with a arm wiping a piece of steel wool across it as a demo?? I had a guy ask me today, that brought his new to him Wing over to have me listen to it, "it was just normal Alternator whine" LOL, and anyway he asked me about a windshield that is scratch proof and I could not remember the one. Told him I would find out and holler at him. Sooooooooooooooo!

It is a trick, not all is revealed. Lol.
Even on a car windshield steel wool actually with even a bit of pressure will cloud the glass if used to take something like tint glue off a window, hence the use of a razor blade.
Also road sand, grime and grit hard bug wings and shells, are much more abrasive than 4/0 steel wool, and these things do not visibly harm glass vehicle windshields, but steel wool actually used on even a glass windshield will scratch and cloud it.
I was born in the Show Me State, let me hold that steel wool and rub a bit..............chuckle.
Never had an F-4 most likely a very good shield, had many others though, finally settled on the Windbender for good .
There is no plastic made that will withstand actual use of steel wool on it, not even highly tempered aircraft shields. They are pretty tuff, but will not stand up to actual use without occasional polishing.
Remember that lawn mower the state fair, if you saw that, drain all the url and run it around cutting grass............it is magic I tell ya.............
Ya know those little plates you toss dimes at, well just put a bar of glycerin soap in your pocket, make sure you lightly rub each dime across the soap before you toss it..........it will stick like glue and your wife will not be able to carry all those stuffed animals.

Time will tell Kit.... so far so good. Probably rode 2000 miles thru various rain showers & downpours and it works for me.... I also use Rejex Polish on the total trike & windshield and carry a spray bottle of water only which removes it all, even Love Bugs & Grasshoppers with no hard rubbing.. I generally use it twice a year unless I really have a long road trip then maybe when I get home again. Really slick aircraft leading edge wax product.Easy to install, no hard work...put it on out of the sun...Retired, Lifetime NRA, IBA #5831, AMA Lifer, HOG Lifer, Gypsy Tour Rider

Hmm, I was always told that steel wool on a car wiindsheild was a great way to clean off all the little nicks and ticks. Its supposed to polish the glass, and so the wipers will work better.Life is all about decisions. I decided for Jesus Christ.

I use REJEX, water runs off like it allergic to it... Made for aircraft leading wing edges.... I use it twice a year and also use a clear piece of door edge guard across the top edge of my F4+4 as that sends the water to the outside edges and not in my face... Google REJEX and can Buy it online.... just a good product with a great track record for me.... even Love Bugs and Grasshoppers don't stick.... a little spray with my water bottle and they're gone with a paper towel.Retired, Lifetime NRA, IBA #5831, AMA Lifer, HOG Lifer, Gypsy Tour Rider
