  • Kury Ergo III OR Utopia Back Rest????

I'm looking to improve my "rider comfort" with an easy add-on to my 2012 Goldwing. I will be doing either the Kuryakin Ergo III pegs or the Utopia Back Rest, but can't do both at this time. If I can do only one of these, which do you recommend?
    Thanks.

    Many variables here.
If you have any back issues,I would go with the backrest.
If you are long legged or want to be able to stretch your legs/have foot position option, then I would get the ergo llls.
    Others opinions may vary.

The very first thing I put on a new bike is the Utopia.

Then a set of pegs for a leg change of position on the slabs.

I suggest you go for the Rivco Hi-way pegs. (They are adjustable for inseam)

      A board sponsor too.

Kuryakyn has a terrible reputation for bad chrome plating.

After 5-6 sets of ergo's. I smartened up and bought the Rivco pegs.

As they say hindsight is 20-20. and I would of saved over $1,000..

No Sir. my legs are no where near the Wind wings.

Plenty of room without any contact.

Damn that's a sweet looking bike -- nice and clean. Like the chrome. It looks like maybe your dog's reflection is showing up on the chrome in the 1st picture LOL!

My recommendation is the Utopia followed by Mic-O-Pegs.

        Utopia backrest.

There have been many other threads here about the pegs...and you said one item at a time.

Do the backrest, then do the Rivco pegs if you want to do it right the first time.

I'd start with the Utopia then high way pegs or Rivco pegs. Mic-O-Pegs is the same as just taking you feet off the riding pads and letting you feet hang down. Just keep your toes up, and put them back on the pads after a few minutes. I'm prone to blood clots behind my knees, and going from the pads to riding pegs back to the pads then after awhile just letting them hang down or the left on the riding peg and right leg just hanging down has gotten the Doctor and my wife off my ass for four years now.

What he said. I would not go with Kury stuff though. They've earned the name krappyakyn. The utopia is nice.

I have had my black powder coated ErgoIII for over a year and no problems. But I did the Backrest first then the Pegs.

Very true Rocky. But I get to cheat also. I have a friend who does Powder coating. I am slowly getting everything powder coated black on my wing.

I have both. My Utopia gets removed every summer when my wife and I take our 5000-7000 miles tour and I don't miss it at all. I have a feeling that I would not miss the highway pegs if they were gone, either, but I do use them on occasion.

I had a Utopia backrest on my 05 and found it to be totally ineffective unless I was using highway pegs.
When I traded in 2010, I never put them back on the new bike and really don't miss either.
