What is everyone using for replacement tires ?

  • #2
Bridgestone..... unless you live in a VERY DRY area, like me...... my wing came with Dunlop’s which are VERY good on dry roads with very low humidity... I live in Boulder City, NV, never rains here... when I lived in MA Dunlop’s were a suicidal adventure.... the rubber they use is VERY hard and wear very well, however on wet or “sweaty’ pavement they are terrible.... Bridgestone tires are softer and wear faster however the rubber is softer and grips better in wet and humid conditions.... they grip like a MOFO on hot and dry, however for the “frugal” gold winger the softer tire wears out faster than a “harder” tire..... SO “wingers” like L O N G wearing tires but they give up safety for longevity..... 10 dollar helmet, 10 dollar head...

in conclusion, Bridgestone Tires for the Goldwing is the BEST tire going... but you are going to be replacing them every 5-7 thousand miles......a concept that is BONE GRINDING to the “typical” winger.....

proper tires on a motorcycle is PARAMOUNT, and should be kept near new and NOT bologna skins....

    hope this helps..

I went with the Metz 888 front and rear, the front was done at 6,000 miles, the rear is a 180/60/16 extra load it has 8500 miles now with 6/32 to 7/32 left of tread. I went with the E 4's this time

There's a $40 rebate on a pair of Bridgestone tires for Goldwings until 9/12/20.

I just ordered a set of the Bridgestone Exedra's from Wingstuff. I really like these tires. Plenty of stick wet or dry and I am at around 11k on the originals. The front still has plenty of meat but the rear is darn near bald at this point. The 40 dollar rebate doesn't hurt either..!
