New biker

Hello Guys,
I moved from Germany to Canada an love to buy a used GL 1500.
My budget is 5000$ and I saw some nice 92 bikes with high milages about 150k.
Whe the bike is well maintenanced is this alright to buy?

150K is half life of the GL motor - If you find one make sure if you can find out if the timing belts were last changed? If you can't then change them first after purchase.

That is only thing I would worry about on a 1500 with Milage over a 100 K or more.

Welcome aboard Beaglernd, I am sure you can find a 1500 with less than 100k for your budget. Why not look around down in the States as well and take it back to Canada.

lot paperwork need to be done and I need to pay tax in Canada...
Maybe when I found a US dealer he have experience in this trade.
Bilkes are a lot cheaper there

It's like Craigslist,but better I think.
I drive by a real nice 1500 here in Central Ontario everyday on the way home from work.I keep intending to drop in and get the details,but haven't so far.It's been there for a couple of months ,so I'm thinking he wants a lot of moneybut hey you never know.
