  • 2017 - miles ridden

Anyone else track their miles each year?

    2002 Goldwing - Purchased 05/01/2010 @ 58,463
    01/01/2011 = 75,394 = 16,931 in 2010 (8 months)
    01/01/2012 = 95,249 = 19,855 in 2011
    12/31/2012 = 112,996 = 17,747 in 2012
10/10/2013 = 125,730 = 12,734 This was the last day the bike was ridden
    12/31/2013 = 125,730 = 12,734 in 2013
    12/31/2014 = 125,730 = 0
    12/31/2015 = 125,730 = 0
    12/31/2016 = 125,730 = 0
04/08/2017 = 125,730 = Back in the saddle again as of today
    12/31/2017 = 132,862 = 7,132 YTD

Wow, hate to see what kept you off the bike for over three years! Neat idea though. I don't keep track of my miles but I ride about 6000-8000 miles per year. I have been without a bike for about 3 years myself so I am looking forward to the spring.

My average was 1000 miles/month on the other bike...

2017's miles was less than the average. My estimate was around 7000 for the year.

I write down the mileage when I do any maintenance. It would be interesting try to guestimate the mileage by year.

My wife had a hemorrhagic stroke Oct 2013. I decided not to ride until she was capable of riding with me again. We started with some small rides to local places, then expanded to riding down to Bisbee, then we did some Tour Of Honor hunting in both AZ and NM, then we established a new Iron Butt Association SaddleSore ride. She tires much more easily than she used to, but I commit to stopping if she can't handle the miles. I'm just happy to have her with me again.

I've had the app for years, but I just never remember to use it.

Have 2 bikes. my 2015 wing has a curly hair short of 40K, my 2012 Heritage (bought in late 2013) has 33K. Missed a lot of riding due to family health issues.

Only put 15K on in 17' but there's hope for the future because I live in Texas where we get to ride pert near every day.
Work gets in the way on occasion and we have numerous family commitments throughout the year but I'm hoping to boost that number this year. Ride On!

Just a tick over 8500 smiles when I was averaging about 20-22000 mi. in previous years. In 2017 I was selling my 2 homes in CA (Central Valley) and the 1 house needed some repairs. Both houses sold in Dec. and I relocated to Vancouver WA about 15 mi.north of my daughter who lives in Portland OR. about 3 weeks ago and just got my Internet hooked up today. I'm a happy camper once again.

You don't find that many folks that move "north" for retirement. I'm a former Modesto resident.

Good to hear the move is over and settling in. Glad your back on-line. Did you make a fire this morning for a little heat?

The biggest motivation was to be close to my daughter and her husband, get the hell out of CA and the Fresno heat where I worked outdoors my whole life.
I was raised in northern NJ where we had lots of cold, snow, and rain so it's not a total shock moving here and so far I'm really enjoying the move.
