I like my Ultimate and do NOT regret the decision to buy it, but I do have to admit that I wish the RDL's had been on sale at the time I had the money to buy one of these. I'll just always wonder.....

Kniterider, are you thinking of sending your seat in to RDL, or riding cross-country to have it done in person?

Offer, if you do ride cross-country to have it done in person, let me know, and I will meet you there. Okay...meet you again...there...as we already know one another. My offer before was...I will pay for the motel rooms, and meals, if you ride that "thang" cross-country "again" to have the seat made. I know you have already done enough riding this year, with that 4 Corners ride, the 50CC ride, and the 3 Flags Classic ride...whew !

Given the discount RDL is offering, I think you will have to send the seat to them, to get it done this year. If you contact KIM at RDL, and make arrangements before Nov 16th, so you get the discount, you can probably have it done anytime this year...not just before the 16th.

"Think" about using that Sunbrella material for the rider seating area. As you know, I always go with the automotive Velour in the rider seating area, but...that Sunbrella is also as waterproof as it can get (though not warrantied as being waterproof). Again, I have never had a problem with the Velour on my seats, as I am either sitting on the seat in the rain, or the bike is covered in the rain when stopped for the night.

But that new Sunbrella might work pretty good, and they do make it in Black, dark Grey, and Graphite.

I have the Sunbrella in black and would get it again. It's more comfortable than vinyl or leather and It should hold well.
