  • Using the Goldwing for work

I just got home yesterday from a job in Perry Georgia.
2133 miles round trip including to and from the event for 3 days.
Beautiful weather and an overall great ride! My only gripe was the gnats. Lots and lots of annoying little gnats, but thats better than mosquitoes!

I've taken the bike to engineering meetings in the past. Makes for a fun day. Furthest customer was only about 100 miles.

There is a little secret about those pesty little critters to get them to leave your face alone. Just cut a small hole in the seat of your pants and the gnats will not bother your face anymore.

C'mon now, you got to ride your bike for work, something had to be uncomfortable or you couldn't classify it as work! Lol. I have just under 18,000 miles for work so far this year and I'm not going to complain about anything, just saying. Cool that your able to do it!

Riding to work is great, but being able to ride FOR work is awesome!

I ride to work year round, and often I'm riding on the clock as I make my way between Patrick AFB and Cape Canaveral AFS on official business which makes for a scenic ride through Cocoa Beach. I'm now retired from active duty but I'm still a USAF GS civilian. If I ever go TDY the Joint Federal Travel Regulation will pay miles to ride to a destination but at about half the rate that you get for driving your car POV. An interesting note is that a motorcycle can be considered a household good during PCS moves and if you do a DITY move you can claim that weight.
