Why do I get an "Alert" screen when I try to post. This happens especially on the New Member Board when I attempt a Welcome

    What does the message say?

There is no message just a blank box with a Red Alert signage

Don't know. I haven't seen the "Alert" you are speaking of. You might post your question over on the Support / Feedback Board.

I don't think I have seen that one. If you get it again, can you take a screen shot?

SBB, yes I am signed in. Yellowbird, yes I click on it and it goes away but it does not allow me to post that particular message. Cruiseman, what is a screen shot?

A screenshot is simply a "snapshot" of a screen or portion of a screen and it is saved to a .jpg file (or other image format). You can use any number of programs to make screen shots. I have been using one called "Screen Hunter" for years and it works great. It is very easy to set up and use. Here is the free version that I have... http://www.wisdom-soft.com/products/...unter_free.htm

You can also just hit the PrtSc button on your keyboard, or Alt+PrtSc and then open MSPaint(if you're on a Windows PC) and Paste the screen capture you just got. Save the file. and upload it.
You can open MSPaint by going to the start button, choosing 'run', and typing mspaint and clicking enter.
                    Here's an example

Yep, if you want the whole screen you can do a PrtScn. Sometimes the detail you want is lost in doing it this way.

I would like to Thank everyone that have taken time and answered. It appears I only get this "Alert" occasionally while using my iPad. When I use my Desk top (which is slower than molasses in winter) I do not get the" Alert". Got one on the the iPad then went on the Desk top the same posting to get the screen shot, and I was allowed to make the post. I will work on this and attempt to get the screen shot so you will know what I am talking about. Thanks again.

To get a screen shot on the iPad, you can simultaneously hit the button on the top right, and the bottom middle. It will make a 'camera' sound, and you'll see the picture in your album.

Your alert may not even be associated with this site.
You may want to run a virus scan.
