I talked with my dealer today about the brake recall, and he told me that he had 2012 wing in his shop with locked-up brakes...this bike wasn't listed in the recall vin.numbers...
I got mine last week and took my bike in to my dealer. I took it in for the first recall and even though I had my brake slowly lock up while riding it, they found nothing upon inspection. So, I get the next recall notice and take it in. After relating my past experience, they're keeping it for a while and hopefully will discover something. My rear brake pedal has always had a difference in hardness and throw that varies on any given day, varies in the same day; either hard and little travel for application or regular feel with normal travel of the pedal. Like I said, I'm hoping they find the faulty part. Talk is, the secondary master cylinder may be the culprit.
Have not got a recall yet on my 2008. I wish Honda had not made the brake system so sophisticated. Some times when you do that you shoot yourself in the foot.
Here is what I'm being told. Flush the brake system, use one full bottle of fluid for the front, use two full bottles of fluid for the rear. Need to clear out all the scum that builds up inside the hoses.
Don't just bleed your system, Flush it every time.
My notice arrived about two weeks ago. It didn't really seem to say much except that there could be an issue with the rear brake "dragging" and that there wasn't a remedy from Honda yet. It also said that I should inspect the rear brake carefully before each ride and I will get another notification when a solution has been found. At least that's what I gathered from it.

This is exactly the way I read the recall. Nothing to fix or replace at this time, just keep an eye on the system. Very comforting.
