Not sure why they can't make a motorcycle tire with this tech

The only thing negative with that would be it would sink. A regular ATV will float if you jump it into the pond. That one would most likely sink.

Be a neat tire for a motorcycle though, round the inner support web, put about one inch of tread on it for a 100K tire. Naw, they wish to sell tires not make something that lasts.

Current ATV tires may keep an ATV from sinking to the bottom if in really deep water but they sure don't have nearly enough floatation to float one with a rider high enough to keep water from going in the engine. Not nearly enough. Been there, know that. Twice. In fact in a swift current, a big ATV still has enough traction to pretty much "hold its own" and the running water go over the seat. Seen that when choosing creek above Devils Punchbowl, Schofield Pass, north of Crested Butte, CO. Incredibly beautiful area, by the way.

It's really not all that new. Several tire manufacturers have been experimenting with variations of that for quite some time.

I actually saw a boom lift truck today that belonged to a roofing company. It had tires like that on it Im sure because of the high risk of running over nails.

Interesting concept. It does make me wonder what the future of conventional tires is. I remember a "few" years ago seeing this thing that looked like a brick with an antenna and you could actually make a phone call...WITHOUT A CORD!! There are those minds out there with the ability to think outside the box and dream up things we never imagined possible.

It would only work on a MC -only if you could powder coat it or Chrome it -

I have seen Bobcats with this type of tire as well.

Motorcycles have to corner on pretty steep angles. That may be a challenge for designers.

I wouldn't mind those on my Honda quads though. I stay out of water.
