  • Run for the Frogs

Place a notice in the RIDES section but will put it here also. A friend sent me an email with a link to a benefit ride in October in Bandera called "Run for the Frogs". I am going to contact them and get more details but the ride is to benefit the families of fallen Navy Seals and is sponsored by the Navy Seal Foundation. Will post more when I find out more.

I may be also. Wrote to them to get details and will let everyone know when I do. It starts at 5 AM so it would require a real early get up or a night down there.

Do you know if the price is per person or per bike.
It really does't matter. I usually throw extra in on benefit rides anyway.

I just put in a phone call asking these questions and will let you know. It is looking like it is a 10 or 10:30 start but I just have the link I posted.

Ok, just got off the phone. Cowboy Bar in Bandera about 9 AM. You can register there. Cost is $30 for the rider. Includes a T Shirt, dinner and door prize ticket. For a rider, the cost for dinner would be $10 and purchase their own T shirt. He said that Rudy, the retired Seal from the first Survivor show will be there also. Sounds like fun.

Went on this ride last week and had a wonderful time. I highly recommend it again if they have it close. There were several hundred bikes that was nicely organized for a couple of rides. Sitting and talking with these guys and their families gives you a sense of awe of all our military and what they sacrifice for us. Got my picture taken with Rudy, retired Seal and TV show Survivor "star".
jmohme met me there and he was the photographer (Jerry, still waiting for my picture - big grin). We were the only two Yellow Goldwings and he had his Tailwind Trailer - mine was home due to a wiring problem in my bike.
