  • What Would You Call This?

A rider that wants to ride tail in a group ride, with riders that he knows will not ride fast in the curves, and then complains about how slow the slow riders are going on the "CB" to the other riders..then thinks it is a good idea to pass everyone on a twisty road with curves, and a solid line (for no passing) with a passenger on his bike?

I would call him a Jerk...I would also call him someone I would not like to ride with...

If I was the group leader I would not let him be the tail gunner, I would tell him if he is going to ride with the group he would be in line behind the leader so he can be controlled. If he didn’t like that I would tell him the group will meet him at the destination.

I'd say either he or I rides solo next time. While I've ridden with some that can literally fly around me (and I'll be seeing him again in a few weeks), we have an understanding. If we're playing around, all is good. If we are riding as a group together somewhere, he rides with us and quite sanely. If there's a time he wants to play and I don't, tell him what I want ordered at the restaraunt and it's waiting for me when I get there.

Make your desires to the guy known, and his desires known to you. If y'all agree - all is good in the world. If not - then one of ya rides solo from the group. Pick your choice.

Hmmm. lets see. He asked to be the tail gunner and then thought it was a good idea to complain about the pace on the CB.

Rocky is heard over the CB.. Hey jackwagon come on up here near me so I can *****-slap you for complaining about a responsibility you asked for. Or turn around and hit the pike and I'll be the gunner.

Is there really some kind of numb nuts that has actually done this type of behavior? And if there is, has nobody ever ridden with him before to know he has the weird potential?

I rode with some people like that. I won't keep up with 2 other riders that go about 80 to 90 mph--and then sit and wait for me.

I would call him a rider without any riding partners. Either respect the leader and all other riders you are with you or pull out before you get told to get lost.

One rider like that can put a hurt on a lot of others in a group ride.
He would have to go or I would. I have no intention of becoming a victim

Himm that's right on the money.

Zactly. BTW you can always give him a real good ***** slap when you stop for whatever reason.

I was off my ride and walking down the line of bikes with something in mind and for some reason somebody left the group and did not come back.
He knew he was in for a real good huck up. Haven't seen him turn up for a ride since. Just as well because I would tell him to fill his boots with sex and travel.

I would either call to him and say "catch me if you can", or if he'd already pulled around, I'd call to him and say "hey, wait for me", because I like to go fast in the curves too. We'll both meet you old, slow fogies back at the hotel tonight. lol

Next ride call everyone else and tell them where to meet. Then call him and tell him another place on the other side of town.

Assuming he knew what he was signing up for when he took the tail position, I'd let him know that what he did isn't appreciated, and in the future either follow the rules of the group or don't ride along. His choice one way or the other.

I would say typical BS from a group ride....sounds sorta like the reason I left GWRRA long ago...too much complaining and riding with those whose style did not match my own.
