  • How much do you spend on your motorcycle?

Your Goldwing or F6B is a big investment by itself, but I am curious how much each of you spend each year on farkles, accessories, tools riding gear, safety items. The whole ball of wax! I know I personally spend a considerable amount. I usually buy a new riding jacket and helmet every couple of years, I am always buying some tool or gadget.

So, how much would you estimate that you spend each year on tools, riding gear, lights, farkles, chrome, accessories, riding gear, boots, etc.?

Oh I dunno, this year of 2014 more than 15K, Trike Kit, Heli bars, fancy wheels, screamer for radar gear, this and that. Throw in some motel rooms, food, fuel and soon it adds up.

Might as well, one day I will wake up dead Lol, one if they can should enjoy life.

Gone fishing today, fuel etc will cost 80 bucks, anything fun costs money, from girls to bikes to boats.

Normally in the $500 range. This year I bought the Ultimate Mid-rider which threw the numbers off.

It depends. On my first three Goldwings, I put 40 to 50,000 miles a year on them, and the cost per year will reflect that. Tires and maintenance items alone would be at least $1500.
Then add in fuel and insurance.

This year a lot more than normal. Probably $1500. New riding pants, windshield, fog lights and a Mustang seat.

In the last 1-1/2 years I've owned this bike, money spent of farkles and safety chrome has been considerable but it is now ALMOST to the point of being MY bike so expenses will go down. Normally the cost of fuel, insurance and other maint items will be well over a thousand each year.

It adds up quickly, well over the $1,000 point. Head sets, back rest, jackets and Airhawk alone sets one back over $800.

I didn't even consider fuel - was only talking about my own maintenance and farkles. Easily triple mine (or more) to include fuel.

I average about $700 a year on my trike. Some years more and some years less.

I usually spend everything I'm gonna spend on it when I first get it.I always try to buy one with a good seat already on it because that is a big expense and I know they all need it.Good set of pegs and it's good to go.Maybe I've been lucky and the used bikes I've bought are already pretty well set-up.As far as shiny stuff,I really have no use for it.JMHO
After it's the way I want it,then it's just maintaining it.

I don't keep track and I don't want to know. I will tell you this, it's much cheaper than my other vice, airplanes.

I agree with Kit on this, anything fun costs money and if you pay too much attention to cost, it ceases to be fun.

Tyres at least once every 12,000 kms = two sets per year
Routine maintenance, includes annual fork rebuild, fluids, wear items that require replacement of course there is the miscellaneous 'stuff' which is always good for a few $100.
gasoline, insurance, licencing, cleaning products all add up etc.
                            Easily exceeds $1500.00 annually

Like others here, my first year with this bike was a big one expense wise. After a few years I've got the bike and my gear about to where I want them, but still it's easy to spend $1K+

Considering a set of tires every year it usually tops $1,000 every year...still cheaper than going to a head doctor.

After seeing the results of the poll, I don't feel so bad about the cost of ownership.

I don't think I need to know or want to know that figure. Probably would dimish the bodacious good-times I'm having...... We all know they are "money-pitts" just like the bass-boats, campers, race-cars, hunting equipment, casnios, etc, etc...........

I bought about $5k worth of add-ons when I bought it new, and add odds and ends from time to time. That, along with tires start to add up.
