  • Would you have considered buying a 2015 Goldwing IF....

What if Honda had just added the following features to the new 2015 40th Anniversary Goldwing. Would you be any more likely to consider buying one?
    • LED Headlights (already available on CTX, VFR800 and Valkarie)
    • Trunk designed to match saddlebags with LED tail/brake lights
    • Rear-view mirrors to match the F6B style
    • Shorty antenna to match F6B style
    • Bluetooth connectivity (already on CTX)

I want to know that if Honda just did the BARE minimum (above), nothing radical, no 6-speed, no dual-clutch, etc. Just a re-design of the trunk and features that already exist on other models, would that have been enough to motivate current owners to trade-up or buy a 2015. It would have for me.

Nope The Bluetooth on the CTX aint that great. It handles better, and gets way better MPG and could still use a 6 th gear. Wish there was some way to bribe Lamont into making his overdrive for the 1800..Damn he was claiming some great numbers with his unit

None of those things would entice me to sell what I have and get a new bike. I do like the short antennas though.

Those things wouldn't have enticed me to trade my 2012 model, but they would have given me more hope for the 2016 or 2017 model that I'm likely going to be buying.

Not enough wrong with my 2012 to warrant that upgrade. The bar is very high....

They are a little more squared off and a tiny bit narrower. They are also blacked out.

I have a 2013 Audio Comfort. No need to upgrade yet, just modify what I have.

                    The bare minimum?

ABS brakes, proper suspension, matching trunk and saddle bag lights (preferably not the "transformer" look) and maybe heated seats and grips.

Nope. I am very happy with my 09 left over and bought new in 2011. I have the bagger with everything. To buy a 2015 it will cost me a bunch of money for little gain except bragging rights that I have a 15.

For the past 3 years I've had 32k in hand to get a new bike. I keep thinking . . . "is this the year of the big make-over?" and watch online for the 'new wing.' Sadly, 2015 is not it. What the hell is wrong with you HONDA? My patience is growing thin . . . Click image for larger version

The mirrors on the F6B are upside-down compared to the regular Wing. Otherwise, they are the same. Having owned 3 of the regular GL1800 Wings, and now owning an F6B, it is very apparent that the mirrors are the same...just upside-down. When Muth was contacted to make their signal mirrors for the F6B, they simply had to flip their patterns upside-down, and make them for the opposing sides. I know, as I have Muth mirrors...that are signal mirrors, and...HEATED mirrors.

Cruisman, I am just waiting till they completely change it. And even more to your list. I love my Elect Windshield on my ST1300. But I can also agree with others that the platform they have right now is hard to beat. I have had nothing but great luck with the 4 1800's I have had. Preformed flawlessly, smooth riding, dependable, comfortable, maybe we just get complacent to easy and want more! What do they call that, "Tim Taylor" syndrome? Where you just got to put more on, more HP, more farkles etc etc.!!

Definitely hoping at some point in next couple years for a big leap forward. I will be ready to spend again and hoping Honda has what I want. Incl LED's, Bluetooth, six speed, improved handling, upgraded styling.
