I have 2 Screamin Eagle Road Glides, a Screamin Eagle Ultra and a Electra Glide Classic but I'm having fun with the Wing.
I guess I just love to ride.
(also have 2 Aprilia SR50's that are a blast to ride)

I suppose it would be the BMW 1600. My neighbor has one, in fact he got me to go to Charlotte and ride it home for him. It is a very nice machine.

That seat is a killer though, I was glad to get off it and happy to see the driveway.

I help him with the maintenance time to time, and he has some new gadget made by someone off some forum that replaces the two(2) oil drain plugs, I suppose we will install that next time. The oil filter is also a pain in the butt and you have to hold the shift lever down to remove it. It has some things that cause you to wonder who the engineer was just like all of them.

Good machine though, except for that seat. It is about as comfortable as a rock.

That is a really tough question.
I have never really liked the retro look, even in the 50's and 60's when it was current. So that rules out most of the list.
BMW has always intrigued me, and locally there is a great supporting dealer, but I wander too far from home, and the scenario of a final drive failure 300 miles from a dealer always goes through my mind.
I like the Spyder, but not now. Maybe when I can no longer handle two wheels.

I think if I had to get something other than a Goldwing, I would just step back a notch in size and go with one of the sport touring bikes. Now here we go again with another long list of choices!

I am on one. Honda ST1300. For one up, it is doing very well for me!

I own a VStar 1100 and since owning the wing it would not be my choice. I've ridden a Vision and that would definitely not be my choice. So based solely from reading about them the BMW 1600 would be my choice.

I voted for other because my other bike is a Street Glide not an Ultra. I enjoy riding both. Heck, I like all bikes, makes and models. I also just love to ride. I have never cared who rode what and why. I am not a biker, just a rider.........

I could not answer this accurately until I went out and started doing some comparing and testing. At the moment though, since I have owned Harleys for 36 years, I would have to go that route.

If someone "took" my Wing away from me...then after the funeral of the thief...I would go buy a Honda F6B....again. We F6B owners do not consider them to be a Wing. The F6B is much quicker...better looking....sexier...lighter...lower-center-of-gravity...and a great bagger. Did I mention it was MUCH quicker than a Wing? Well, it is.:p

I love my Moto Guzzi. If I was shopping for another bike it would probably be another one.

I think I would go with a Dual Sport or ADV bike the second time around. I really like the Vee-Stroms. Both the DL1000 and the DL650 are capable of being a touring motorcycle and gives the option of going off-road for a completely different experience than being on the black top all the time.

Now that Honda has deemed the F6B worthy of cruise control, that would be first on my list. I also love the looks of the Victory Cross Country, in the bagger and touring edition.

I'm going with the Triumph Trophy. That BMW GTL is nice, though. I saw one in Monterey at WSBK. That thing is everything a touring bike should be, except for the scheduled maintenance. UGH

Hmm,, well have had every incarnation of the wing since 1979. In between years I have had several beemers, ,,k1200 LTi, R1200 RT,, had a bunch of different Hondas,, Cx500, CX650,, CB550, Sabre v45, and a 2009 st1300, Oh yeah my first 2 bikes early 70s 2 brand new Harleys back when AMF owned the company that soured any possibility of me ever owning another hardly. When and IF the Honda rep is right about the 2017 model wing having finally gotten a true OD 6th gear I MAY decide to go that route again,,, Because I saw the performance results that Lamont obtained with his Overdrive unit for the 1500.. Which I would have bought BUT I hated that 1500 worse than my first 2 Harleys. A cement truck handled better.
SOO,, now I have the best of both of my worlds,, My CTX1300,, Honda reliability, smooth as silk, Not quite as quick as my old ST1300 but much better ergonomics and MPG is way better for my long rides.

I picked the Harley because my wife would be OK with the seat. I would have picked a BMW except the closest dealer is about 100 miles and I'd have to drive through a lot of city to get to it. BMW has a dealer network problem for me. I'd also worry about a break down and not having a dealer anywhere near.

Our Harley dealer is excellent. I have bought several Harleys from them in the past.

                                  Perish the thought !
I would have a good look at a Can Am. The seating position looks like a similar set up to the Wing and it has a good amount of gear storage for 2 up cruising.

Would have gone with the BMW 1200RT based on riding in Europe but after riding with a buddy with his new Victory Vision this past weekend I'd probably go that direction. Although the V-Twin sound might drive me back to BMW phew...glad the better half gave her approval for a new wing under the Christmas (can I say that) Tree.

Have to agree on the F6B, It would have to be if and when my wife decides to give up being a co-rider, she would not ride on it .
