If you're a bike owner, it's past time to contact your electeds about killing E15 because unless something changes quickly, it's coming like a freight train. And based on everything I've read, it will kill our bikes. Hard to get +130,000 miles on an engine that's being attacked from within. We do everything we can to make them last, and unelected officials go about doing stuff like this. Worse, everybody just blindly follows along.

The AMA is working hard to protect us, but the more of us that make our desires known the more effective the protest will be. I’m tired of $9/gallon gas for my little outboard, which has carberettor probkems with ethanol gas, and we’re all losing 10% power and 10% mileage with the ethanol gas

Thanks Rocky, very informative information, especially on the fuel additives. I just checked the p/n on the latest bottle of Sta-Bil that I bought it's 22231 instead of 22213 that the article listed and the CAS# is 64742-47-8 which is also different than the # listed. However it does say "does not contain alcohol" which is the most important issue.

My GL1800 would have to get 44 mpg with "pure gas" for all of the internet rumors and accusations to be true....but it doesn't. In fact, the fuel economy is the same with ethanol blend.

The parts I've had to replace on smaller motors and older vehicles that were eaten by ethanol were not rumors. The money several friends make replacing others' hoses, gaskets, etc., is not rumor. It's become their business. The gas mileage piece is the smallest of my concerns. It's also not the driving force of the AMA's argument as well. That's engine damage.

Clay, you are one hundred and ten percent correct. I spent $400 on a carb rebuild on my old Harley. I should have mentioned this as well

I can't add up the $$$$ I spent in the 80's chasing bad idles, poor performance, lost mpg, and damaged lawnmower diaphragms when Quick Trip first introduced ethanol to their gasoline without ever telling anyone. Every carburetor in my arsenal turned to dog schiitt that year, and I think I spotted my first gray hair because of it.
