  • Only 12 F6B Riders? Come on!

I know there are other excellent F6B forums our there, but we need you to spread the word to your F6B riding buddies! We should have 100 F6B riders on here, not just 12.

I have noticed the amount of F6B activity on old site is really slow and on the F6B specific site it is moderate. I have not met any others on road or at the activities I have attended. I belong to GWRRA and in our chapter I am the only owner. What is a good way to check the sales? I am an older solo rider so the bike is ideal for me. I get all the benefits of the GL1800 with a lower center of gravity. I did purchased mine March of 13 and wasn't involved in motorcycle forums so I didn't get the word on the paint situation.

I am not sure about a good way to check sales. I just assumed that the F6B was a big hit.

On the Honda F6B site there a lot of comments on the abundance of the 13's providing some great savings. I love the camaraderie on that site about which color F6B is fastest. The person that painted my bike told me it was Indy 500 winning yellow but when I reported to tech inspection they told me I needed two more wheels.

I don't have an F6B, but I follow some of the sub-forums just because I like them. I don't like that there is an "abundance of 13's" - that sounds as if they're not selling very well. Personally, I like them, and had planned on looking at buying one after I've had the full 'Wing for 4 years. It would then be used as our "trip bike", and the F6B would become the daily ride to work.

Can you come up with the sales of the F6B? I have passed and observed a lot GL1800.s but no F6B's, using the arm chair quarterback analysis the GL1800 is out selling the F6B a lot to 0.

I don't think Honda releases the sales number of any individual bikes. Anyone that says the GL1800 is outselling the F6B 100 to 1 (or any number to any number, for that matter), I'd have to ask them where they got the numbers.

However, if dealers have a lot in stock, that's worth a little concern.

The two local dealers I visit from time to time (and it's not very frequently) don't seem to have disproportionately higher number than the GL1800s.

I have a "13" F6B and they are hard to find around here. I've seen a few on the road.

I was at the Honda dealer today and there was a Yellow one in the showroom. If it had ABS I would have had a hard time walking away from it!

I have a 2018 F6B and it has cruise control.

                • #10
I would seriously consider an F6B if they had cruise control.

Cruise is not hard to add on.

I've had my F6B for a bit over a year now, pushing 18K miles. Love the bike as it's what I want in a bike. Can I nitpick, yes, but there isn't another scoot that appeals to me more. Other than mine, I've seen one other F6B.

I was all over this bike when Honda announced it but was holding out for cruise and maybe ABS. But when I found out only a color change for '14, I jumped on a used one that showed up at my dealer. It already had a Throttlemeister and it does the job. After 10mo & 13k miles, the only regret was that I waited so long. Made the trip from Fla to Madison, WI this summer and it's all good.

On another note, they're were 5 F6B owners at my dealer today, with a new leftover '13 being delivered to it's new owner. Of course my dealer has one as his personal ride, so I guess that helps sell em!

Well, I wish I could add to the conversation, but I have a 2012 Victory Cross Country to sell before I can buy the F6B...at least that's what momma said.

Time to be the man of the house. Buy the B and move out into the garage.

Well I was in the same boat, except mine was '12 CrossRoads. There was a lot to like about the Vic (loved those floorboards) but like the F6 much better. Good Luck

Regarding the F6B Lamont said "I understand this is a love or or hate it bike...". So maybe people are speaking with their $$$.

Since I am currently riding the Three Flags Classic rally, from Tucson, AZ. to Harrison Hot Springs, B.C., and there are approx. 275 bikes on this rally, of which 95 are Hondas...I can tell you that I have the only Honda F6B on the rally. Bad news...my riding partner of 35 years, riding his '97 GL-1500, had a stopped accident, fell off the bike at zero speed, and fractured his hip. At this moment all is being taken care of, and everyone is where they need to be. I had a tough 36 straight hours of shuttling bikes, transport car, etc, wherein I had to travel 2200 miles in that time, taking his bike to Carson City, from Utah, and bring his wife back in her car, to pick him up, and then retrieving my bike, and then continuing on to the 3 Flags ride.

I really love the F6B. If I had to do it all over again, and if Honda would have come out with that '14 GL-1800 that is all blacked out....a year earlier...that is what I would have bought. I bought the F6B because of the blacked out engine and frame. The wheels I have power-coated gloss black anyway, so that was no big deal. Yes, there are things missing on the F6B that we get used to having...cruise control...CB ability...etc, etc., but the F6B can be made to fit your riding needs. Mine now has over 33,000 miles on it, had a Honda CB on it, has a throttle lock that works, and it is MUCH quicker than a GL-1800 Wing. MUCH ! I hate the bad paint on it, but maybe this Winter, or next Winter, I will simply have it painted a custom color, and be done with that.

If Honda would have left the cruse control and reverse on them, I'd buy one in a minute.

After having a bike with these features, it's damn hard to go backwards.

Well, next month the 2015's will be available with cruise. I think the new blue one has your name on it! No excuses now.

What is the reasoning that Honda would not continue with the CC and reverse on this model? Seems like reverse technology to me since they already had it for years.
