Waiting Period?

Is there a waiting period before a new member can post or can they post right away? Reason I ask is that I helped a buddy sign up a day or so ago and he says he can't post yet.

Once I signed up I got an additional registration e-mail which contained a link I had to click on to complete the registration process. Maybe he didn't get that e-mail or maybe it is in his Junk folder. Note that some people have their e-mail configured to delete the contents of the Junk folder when they close their e-mail client.

You cannot post until you click the link in the authorization email, which is for security purposes. I get about 4 emails a week from people who either have not done that, or the email went to their Junk Mail folder.

I called my friend and he said he has not gotten any email from this forum. None in his spam folder either. Now what?

Just got a call back. He checked his email address in the settings and it had been entered incorrectly. It is correct now. Can you send another authorization email to him? User name is "TOFORBS"

Cruiseman, thanks for helping Wingleader09 (Jim) get me set up. I finally made it. Took me a while to figure out I had fat-fingered my email address in the settings. Oops! :o

I think there should be a waiting period, ten days at least, then there will be less chance of shooting yourself in the foot .
