Too bad nobody showed up for this, sounded like a fun ride. I wish I was closer to some of those areas to explore again.

Maybe I was too adventurous thinking Phoenix area GW riders could ride there & back in one day, maybe I needed to give longer prior notice, maybe no one wants to ride with me, maybe people work on Vets day....

Maybe I'll try again next year...

Not everyone is retired, Tim... :D (yes, we worked that day...and several other holidays as well)

That's a normal work day for my industry, yes - but I will be taking that day off. :D

Hey, that is a good idea.....have Cruiseman start a new forum, that is just for US retired riders. All those riders that still work can be on another forum.

                  Okay, Ken, I am sorta....kidding.

(better clarify that the US is for "we" riders...not just United States riders, because..."we" love those Canucks...eh !)

Too bad those of you that have to work...I have been retired for 3 years but soon will be working again as I'm running out of 'fun' money. All my toys are paid for but the pension can only support so much. With future inflation and not cost of living raises in my future for the next 20+ years, I will need to start working again, someday...Trying to put it off as long as possible, but my wife keeps insisting we pay the house payment.

If there is interest next time the Feds allow us into our National Parks for free, maybe we can plan a trip to the Grand Canyon from the Phoenix area and even have a meeting point in Flagstaff for those who may want to join us from California and New Mexico or where ever.

If you go back to work, then you will have to resign from our..."retired riders forum". :toast:

Its interesting I get more activity posting and then cancelling the ride than actually going on the ride....Good thing I'm not interested in attention,..

You are correct, these are national holidays yet many of us, me included, have to work on both of these days. I even have to work on Martin Luther King Day.

I too worked holidays as we didn't vary our schedule as police were needed every day (along with other 24-7 jobs).

But a normal business requiring workers to work on National Holidays is just wrong, unless your Walmart.

Did that trip up and back twice this summer and just did an overnighter with the SO last month. Sorry I missed you post, GC is one of my favorite NP's.

Guess I didn't read this forum close enough to learn there was a V-Day ride. Perhaps next time.

                                        Did you go?

I was working at my kid's place that day - trying to put the finishing touches on a four month long project that should have only been half that. Grrr...
