  • 9th annual Death Valley Rally

It's time again. This yar the rally will be on the 14 and 15 th of February. Beatty Nevada will again be the headquarters and most will be staying at motel 6. We will pretty much do it th same way as always (except I'm not crashing this year). First day in the park the second north of the park and over to Bishop CA. Heavy emphasis on making new friends and catching up with old ones. All rides will be at the individual riders comfort level. We have pretty set places we go so catching up is never a problem. Weather has always been great but it can get cold in some areas. As always ther is no plan. See you there

I'm planning on it but gotta get a new credit card before then, won't let me make reservations. Fixed that, got a new card on the way.

Will the ride on Sunday go over the mountains clockwise to Bishop and back to Beatty like last year? I recall the change was made because it was cold in the morning so everyone thought afternoon would be warmer. We did not make the last leg back over the mountains from Bishop as we had to head down the 395 to home which will most likely be the case this time but things can change. Now that I think of it, you did not make that last stretch over the mountains either.

Oh that's cold. lol. I'm open to either way. If It makes a difference as to whether someone gets to do the road then I'm in for doing it the old way. It's negotiable

Does anyone know if the roads to Scotty's Castle will be finished and opened this time around? I believe they were under construction last year and that leg was never taken.

Y'know, even with the failing pavement, I found that little stretch of road was pretty phenomenal...narrow, terrible surface, and some twisty stuff - great way to check out a suspension setup.

...and, of course, that 20-odd mile stretch :ahem: to the highway is kinda fun as well.

Dave, you missed the part of Old Guy's post. THERE IS NO PLAN! We pretty much make it up each year. Some will continue to do the same routes, and others will go a different way and explore on their own. I'm just hoping that Rocky brings his handy dandy survival kit again, and we don't have any exploding fork seals, or other mishaps. Though I would pay to see PigPen ride Old Guy's bike down the road again. Looking forward to seeing old friends, and meeting new ones. Waiting for Bravo Foxtrot to chime in shortly. I'm going to miss the Enchanters though.

No we do not want to see Rocky on my bike again. Not for that reason

Not for *any* reason like that...

Glad you *both* walked away from those situations.

This year will hopefully be uneventful in that regard.

I'm glad to see that both of these guys have a decent color bike now. "Pearl White". :toast: :toast:
