  • Looking for a good place to ride to in the Carolinas

Here is what we are looking for:

An interesting town/city with a nice downtown area where we can easily walk to restaurants, cafes, attractions, etc. from the hotel. Someplace with decent, scenic riding in the area. We would like to spend at least 4 or 5 days in a nice B&B or hotel. Open to North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessae, etc.

The OP did say walking. If driving... Well that's another matter. We have been there several times and this last time we actually stayed in Pigeon Forge. Can you say traffic and lots of it.

Good choice. But expensive this time of year. The leaf peepers are coming out.

Sparta North Carolina. Ask Ollllllddddd Fred what the last road we rode the last day was? I have forgot. There are nice roads all around Sparta. Oh if you eat at the close within walking distance steak house, do not eat the Rib-Eye, everything else is great, the Rib-Eyes are from old steers. Lol! I think mine was off an revitalized dinosaur.

I've been to the area probably a dozen times now. After my first visit to Gatlinburg and the crowds, I've only gone through it once more. I always use the little bypass around it.
