They become so much a part of the family. Remember the good times and laugh again about the not-so-good times.

Sorry for your loss. At the moment, we don't have any pets we are on the road to much to properly care for one, but will have another one day.

Sorry for your loss Al. Our pets become such a large part of the family, it often is difficult to know whether we own the pets or they own us.

I know where your coming from, I had to have one of my best friends put to sleep in February after enjoying her for 15 years.
It does get easier with time.
But it's almost like loosing one of your kids.

Would you like to play? What kind of mischief can we get into? Lol! Way too much energy. I hear you but as you see only with one ear, I am playing like I cannot hear you.

                      RainbowBridge.com
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Al. I feel your pain my friend. I had to put down my buddy last year because of his health issues at his age. It makes me sad to see another dog who looks like him.

Remember the Rainbow Bridge. It will comfort you in knowing your buddy is now happy and healthy again waiting for you to join her..

                        Peace be with you.

Sorry for the loss of your friend/family member. Animals in my household become humanized to point they think someday, they'll start walking on two legs. Only small advice is to focus on all of the happy times your friend gave you. Boxers are so darn smart and intuitive. Take care Al
