  • Being a Grandpa! Some things are good when we get age on us! Here is one!

Helped granddaughter yesterday to learn how to ride a bicycle with no training wheels! After she got it down, the sheer delight in her was a sight to see! She would ride by just a hollering in pure pride!

Do you all remember such a time when you learned how? It brought back the memories! I had taught two girls of my own to ride, but seems like at that time I was not old enough for it to be so nostalgic to me, but being a Grandpa, it hit good!

She and I stayed out till it was to dark to see, with her riding back and forth, just grinning and laughing at a new found freedom she was experiencing inside her! I like being a grandpa! It has it's perks!

    It was cool!

I've got a little electric motorcycle for the 5 year old grandchild . I've told him he can't ride it until he can ride his bike with no training wheels. He's wanted to ride with me on the wing for a couple years but Arkansas says they have to be 8 years old..

Training wheels are obsolete. Saw a 2yo on one of these balance bikes and her dad kept having to shout for her to slow down.

Rick - Also a grandpa a few times over and have had the pleasure of taking my granddaughter (14) for a ride twice. Nice part is she wants to go again - priceless. Newest grandson is 4+ and I can't wait to get to give him his first ride. Hope gramps can last long enough for that to happen. Nice to get old with grandkids around, keeps us young. Take care.

This is a photo of me (on my 1500), my daughter (on a Rebel), and her daughter (my grand-daughter, on the electric bike I got her for her 4th birthday). It's old (she's 11 now), but still one of my favorites ever. She went around telling people "My Momma and PeePaw ride Hondas, but I ride a Harley!

I remember when my Dad taught me to ride a bike as clearly as if it were yesterday. I also remember teaching my daughter.
They grow up way to fast!

Being a grandparent now, I get the chance to appreciate some of those moments in life that I was too young to fully appreciate and savor when my kids were growing up. I'm especially enjoying watching my grandson learn to ride a bike. Brings back all those good memories of seeing my own kids learn in that very same driveway.

Your in Grand Kid Limbo stage, we were in it for a number of years. I a telling you, they are a blast to have. We keep the grand boy on Thursdays, we had him yesterday. First thing he did when he came in the house is get his pants off, down to his underwear and holler "Grandpa, lets watch Monster Trucks". He likes watching Construction Videos on You Tube, Mud Trucks, Dozers, mud racing, etc etc. !!!! LOL!

I have two grandsons so far, ages 11 and 2. What a blast. Tomorrow riding the Wing to the older one's soccer tournament. As soon as the 2 year old sees the Wing, he wants to be put in the seat and he does NOT want to get down!

Our 2 grandchildren spend a lot of time with us in the summers, they are 8 and 10 now. They love to ride around with grandpa.

Great post! I have six grand kids - three grandsons living across the country on the left coast. That's a cross country ride on my bucket list. Two more grandsons and a granddaughter only a thousand miles away. I haven't had opportunity to take that ride either, but I did fly out last week. Another granddaughter on the way, due to arrive mid-December. Her parents share our house near the east coast. I ordered one of the shirts Rocky showed us and bookmarked the balance bike. I'll have to order a couple of those too.
