Whether real or not, this effectively reflects what we see going on in restaurants every day.

I have seen this first hand. Now at Chili's they have kiosks at the table where you can order something, pay your bill, and or...........play games for a price. Guess the restaurant wants some of the action.

        we eat out often

We are always amazed at the number of single couples on what seems like a date and after a couple of minutes of banter....they
        start texting.??

My wife and I see this all the time and it's not just young couples either. It's older couples and even whole families. My wife and I have a deal. No cell phones when we are eating out. We think it's terribly rude and says to the person you are with that they are not important enough to have your undivided attention.

I heard of a lunch game that I think would be great (never actually tried it).

Everyone puts their cell phone in the middle of the table. First one to pick theirs up pays the tab for everyone.

The free meals I'd get with that game would be numerous.

Me too. I'm pretty good at ignoring my phone. I'm also good at creating customized ringtones. All of the people (and places) that are important to me have their own easily recognizable ring tone.
