      Should be interesting to see how the Federal Gov demonstrates a compelling need to override this law.
      (1) imposes a tax, fee, or stamp on a firearm, firearm accessory, or firearm ammunition that is not common to all other goods and services and may be reasonably expected to create a chilling effect on the purchase or ownership of those items by a law-abiding citizen;
      (2) requires the registration or tracking of a firearm, firearm accessory, or firearm ammunition or the owners of those items that may be reasonably expected to create a chilling effect on the purchase or ownership of those items by a law-abiding citizen;

      (3) prohibits the possession, ownership, use, or transfer of a firearm, firearm accessory, or firearm ammunition by a law-abiding citizen;

      (4) orders the confiscation of a firearm, firearm accessory, or firearm ammunition from a law-abiding citizen.

        I love Texas. I've never regretted for one moment moving back to Texas after I retired from the Navy. Texas is my kind of place to live. Not one single dumocrap elected official in state-wide office. We do have several dumocraps representing ghetto congressional districts but none in state-wide offices.

          I was born and raised in Illinois. My wife got a job in Austin. so I agreed to move to Texas. That just happened to be the year that Bill Clinton took office. (Good timing!).

          When I got here the change in attitude took a bit of getting used to. but the longer I have been here, the more I feel that I should have made the move years earlier.
          Things like what Representative Klienschmidt proposed just make me feel even better about the decision to get the heck out of Illinois to a state that has not lost site of what this country was intended to be!

            So you left the great socialist state of Illinois, congrats!

              Tim Kleinschmidt is a good man. I got to know him pretty well in 2008 when I helped in his first campaign for Texas House of Representatives.
