    Happy Birthday U.S. Navy!

    Happy 239th Birthday!
    In 1972, Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Elmo R. Zumwalt authorized the United States Navy's birthday to be recognized as October 13, 1775. Since that time, this has been a day to celebrate and appreciate the rich heritage of the United States Navy.
    Here's wishing all current and former members of the U.S. Navy a great Navy Birthday and thank you for your service to the nation.
