  • Tell me again why it is good to have illegals in the U.S.

A car-jacking turns into a police chase which ends with two teens in custody.
Police say the two Guatemalans, 16 and 17, escaped a facility in Des Plaines around 6 this morning, hijacking a car there and making their way to Moline and Walmart.
Officers say that's where they ordered a 91-year-old veteran out of his car and took off in it, ramming another car on the way out of the parking lot.
Iowa officers initiated a short pursuit this afternoon, deploying stop sticks on Interstate 80 near Iowa City, arresting the teens. They say no one was hurt.
"I mean the 91-year-old veteran was a little shook up but actually he did everything right when he gave them the car," Moline Detective Scott Williams said. "He didn't try to fight 'em.'"
Police say the surveillance video at Walmart helped them identify the suspects. Now they are awaiting charges from Moline and Des Plaines.

    Luckily the veteran wasn't hurt.

The Massachusetts attorney general, now a leading candidate for governor, has stated "it's not illegal to be illegal in Massachusetts." The present governor, a potential future candidate for the office of president, has given free tuition in state colleges to illegals, while the average legal resident has to pay full tuition. I don't blame the illegals. They would be foolish not to come here. It's our government that fosters and encourages foreigners to sneak across our borders.

The open borders policy is what has nearly destroyed every European country that has implemented it. Most people in the US do not travel internationally, so they don't see what is happening in the rest of the world. I travel internationally for business, so I have an opportunity to talk with people from these countries. A cab driver in Spain told me that their government lies to them about the unemployment numbers (sound familiar). The government there claims 15%, but he said it is more like 25% (just like here). He complained about the illegals that come in to Spain, don't work, and get all the welfare programs and free healthcare. He was shocked that America had implemented Obamacare because their socialized medicine has been such a disaster. The only people that use the government healthcare are the illegals, everyone else has to pay extra for private healthcare. That is the system we are heading toward now. You will pay extremely high taxes to pay for everyone else's healthcare, then have to pay for private insurance for yourself.

Obamacare the final nail in the liberal coffin. It has buried virtually every country where it has been implemented. The European countries have been experimenting with Socialism for 50 years and they can't make it work. And, they have had the added benefit of not having to spend money on defense. We have taken care of that for them. But now, we are broke.

I can't even count the number of Brits who have told me they would be dead if they had not had private health insurance. I had dinner with a gentleman who needed a major surgery and was put on a 6 month waiting list. He would have died waiting for the surgery. Fortunately, he had the money to pay for surgery privately. I have a friend in Canada who LOVES their healthcare system, and cannot understand why the US has not gone with a completely government run system. But, when he needed a very specialized throat surgery, the only place that was trained to perform it was in the USA. So, he had to pay $40,000 to get the surgery. He has been trying to get the Canadian government to reimburse him, but they only value the surgery at $1,500, so he is on the hook for the rest. So, you see why the surgery is not available in Canada? No qualified surgeon wants to learn how to perform a 6 hour procedure and only receive $1,500. In spite of this, he still believes their system is better!

            Lone Ranger,
I am seeing too many of your political posts which are nothing more than links to political or media website. If you have several points to make, then do so in a single post, don't flood the forum with lot's of threads.

Back to the original title of the post. Someone needs to explain some things to me when it comes to amnesty.

Question: Do they even want to be legal?

I have not seen any massive demonstrations from illegals claiming they should be granted citizenship. It is mostly liberal groups demonstrating for amnesty. Why would they want citizenship? They can already get a drivers license, free healthcare, free education and every other benefit. They can even vote in many districts. Why would they want to have to pay income taxes?

Question: Why does the Chamber of Commerce support amnesty?

I understand the desire of companies for cheap labor. But, when the illegals becomes a citizen, aren't they covered under minimum wage laws? And, won't they be subject to union membership? So, how will legalization make the labor force any cheaper?

Question: Why do they keep saying 'living in the shadows'?

Even GW Bush talks about the millions of illegals living in the shadows. What shadows? They are at every NFL game with a huge Mexican flag waving in the end zone. They wear Mexican flag t-shirts to school. And, they are working in every fast food restaurant in Texas.

Question: Why does nobody challenge the 10-12 million number?

Hell, we have 10 million illegals in Texas! I am going to go out on a limb here and say it is probably more like 50 million. First, the government admits they don't know how many illegals are in the country. Yet, they routinely use the number 10-12 million. How do they come up with that number? I can at least tell you how I come up with 50 million. Here is my logic. Let's assume there are 10 million illegals. Let's also assume, for the sake of argument, that most legal Hispanic Americans can read and speak English. Then we can also assume the vast majority of Hispanics who cannot read or speak English are most likely here illegally. We can then conclude that 10 million illegals would constitute approximately 3% of the populate (assuming 300 million) is illegal. I do not believe that Walmart and every other company would spend the money to have all their signs in Spanish for 3% of the market, especially 3% that is at the bottom of the wage scale. I conclude that 10-15% of the population is illegal and does not speak or read English and THAT is why Walmart and others have been forced to put signs in Spanish.

There is a large population of illegal entrants into the US who are NOT Hispanic. They do hide in the shadows and most people don't even realize how many non-Hispanic illegal entrants there are. It would really concern you to knew the numbers....

I think the 10-12 million are just an estimate of Hispanic illegal entrants into the US. There real problems with Chinese, Indians (from India - the most problematic according to INS agents I know), Russians, Canadians, and middle-eastern countries.

Now we will have more fleeing here from West Africa to get away from Ebola or trying to get to the US for better medical treatment as we already have set a precedent.

No, just trying to establish precisely what level of hypocrisy the one who is currently running this forum has.

When you own this site then you can tell me what to do and what to say or not say and how to say it. Read the title of the OP and the last line. Just because you spout off with endless words does mean you are saying anything.

Thank you for your insightful thoughts. If you don't like how I post stories or opinions that impact American citizens then don't read what I post. Having the freedom to read or not read is something that should not be wasted on the demands of the ignorant.

They if they wanted to be American citizens they would not be waving the Mexican flag. As you say they have all the benefits. Why buy the cow when you can get the milk free.

Question: Why does the Chamber of Commerce support amnesty?

By being given amnesty to work as Americans citizens, without being American citizens, the cost of labor will move up the food chain and this is what unions want. Also, unions, such as SEIU, see illegals and increased pay as a source of unions dues; which a portion can be then donated to the democratic candidate of the union's choice - this is why the teachers in Wis are so happy about what Scott Walker did and the unions are so unhappy about.

They are not living in the shadows. But doesn't it just tug at the heart strings to feel sorry for them? That is what the phrase it meant to do.

Question: Why does nobody challenge the 10-12 million number?

Hell, we have 10 million illegals in Texas! I am going to go out on a limb here and say it is probably more like 50 million. No liberal pol wants the American public to know how many are actually here. Might hurt their chances at re-election and demand that businesses be punished, along with increased numbers of deportations.
Liberals will cite economic opportunity for the illegal and the creation of a job market when talking about amnesty. Liberals will talk about how businesses will suffer if it weren't for illegals to work at low wages, while in the same breath demanding $15.00 an hour. Again, unions protest with illegals, why? Because when the minimum wage is increased the cost of other labor jobs will increase and unions know that they will be on the receiving end of demanding more money for their membership, along with collecting dues from those making $15.00 an hour. There is a reason that unions march with illegals, they know the illegals are source of new dues. Which explains why unions do not like RTW states and liberals do everything in their power to break those states. The democratic party lives off union dues, along with other contributions from wealthy leftist elitists.

As regards the OP. "Tell me again why it is good to have illegals in the U.S." http://www.kljb.com/story/26741686/m...-vet-in-moline "Luckily the veteran wasn't hurt." So American citizens are to be sacrificed in order to have illegals here because they will help the economy. Only in the liberal world until it is one of theirs who don't come home because an illegal killed the family member or friend.

As it has been pointed out to me by liberals on another forum, the cost of a sandwich, lawn care, picking agricultural products, domestic cleaning and other occupations that illegals perform work will rise if it were not for illegals doing these jobs. I have responded, as the OP infers, that having illegals here to work is not worth an American citizen's life. http://www.immigrationshumancost.org/archives.html http://www.immigrationshumancost.org...victims_2.html A co-worker was killed by an illegal. Had that illegal not been here doing a job that liberals cry would cost more if the illegal wasn't here, the victim as well as others would be alive today.
