  • No wonder they are losing people

I am no fan of Greg or his posts but this explanation for closing the thread shows how heavy handed it is getting. I just hope they don't ban him and he comes here.

    This is from the Moderator:
"Because Greg owns and operates a business and is not a sponsor on this board he cannot talk, promote or elude to his business. Mentioning the number of engines being removed eludes to his business. Promoting the performance build of an engine eludes to his business. To do so competes with businesses who are paid board sponsors, which is not permitted here. The rules are clear. Greg knows that if he steps over the line he will be banned. This thread is at that line and has run its course."

Someone should talk to Bulldog about advertising here. He appears to not happy either.

Hey, I was a paying sponsor and they banned me.

Every forum has rules in place to protect their sponsors, and that is fair. There might have been a more tactful way to handle the situation so as not to inflame anyone. But hey, I am not expert, I am still learning the ropes too.

Greg already knows I am here. He'd be stupid to start posting here.

As a mechanic, he is bad at best. Reminds me of sme of the clowns I have had the displeasure of working with over the years. Seems to attract the mechanically challenged though.

Bulldog would be a very nice addition to this board and I am very surprised he actually tolerates the "other" board.

IMO that response would only be appropriate if his business is in competition with any of the sponsors. I've never seen a sponsor on that board that rebuilds transmissions, or does mechanical work. If there was, then perhaps it would make sense. Alas, it does not.

Plus, if any of the sponsors would consider him to be competition, they're about to go out of business anyway.

Not sure what the definition of "mechanical work" would be, but Fred H. and Keith (GoldWingWerks) both do service work on Wings.

Fred H is a piddler. meaning he can only do certain things (Light duty as we wrenches call it)
Keith isn't a full mechanic, but he's willing to learn and dive into it with guidance.

Shocks/brakes/filters/aftermarket accessory install type of mechanical work. But they are paying sponsors-Greg is not!.
