The reason for the thread was that a Texan by using his firearm stopped 4 bad guys. In Illinois, which recently acquired CCW, the political atmosphere is still so tainted toward any pro-active response, such as that of the Texan, that it is highly likely that it will occur in Illinois in the foreseeable future; whereas multiple victims from a single shooting is the norm. Also, in Illinios the government is making it hard to get the permits...Costs a lot too so those law abiding but poor citizens who may really need a weapon can't afford a permit and the weapon...

In Arizona the cost of concealed carry is the purchase of the weapon & ammo & (hopefully) a holster....
