The Plague Comes To Texas

Thanks to our ineffective federal government, we now have Ebola in Texas. Now all Americans are at risk of exposure to this deadly virus. This was completely preventable. The government's #1 priority is to protect the public. They failed, miserably. Three months ago I was asking why we were not denying any airline passengers entrance into America from West African countries? Many other countries have already done this. Why not America?

If you think this government can protect you, from anything, think again. They spent over a billion dollars on a website that arguably still does not work. They cannot even protect the White House! They can't lock a friggin' door! They could not predict that ISIS was going to take over Iraq and Syria. Of course, they can, without hesitation, accurately predict that the Earth's temperature is going to rise by .06 degrees over the next 100 years. And, they have convinced half of Americans that they can control the Earth's climate.

To make matters worse, they get on TV and lie to our faces. The head of the CDC telling us yesterday that Ebola can only be contracted from direct contact with bodily fluids. Really? What about the health care workers in Africa with hazmat suits on, how did they contract it? Are they smearing the patients feces on their face at night? And of course, thanks to our HIPPA laws, they cannot release the identity of this non-US citizen (because EVERYONE IN THE WORLD is protected by US law, except for us). So, if you DID come in direct contact with the infected person, how in the Hell would you know it?

How many Americans will die because of this latest screw up by our elected so-called leaders?

I think that the only thing this president cares about is his agenda and since his agenda is falling apart he avoids doing anything hoping that whatever the crisis is will go away. I think he would quit if he could except that it would ruin his legacy or what ever legacy he thinks he has.

On this ebola case, this guy is a foreigner so who's going to pay for his treatment in an ICU isolation room. Is the hospital going to eat it or is the GOV going to pay for it. I'm sure the experimental drugs for this are not cheap.

That's what I figured. The Hospital will take the hit on hospital costs and we will take the hit on everything the CDC is doing.

This guy went to hospital on the 26th with a fever and they sent him home so every one from the hospital, to where he was staying, who he came in contact with coming and going was exposed till he was put in isolation on the 28th. This is just nuts.

In most countries, the airline is either owned by the government, or heavily subsidized and run by the government (e.g. Malaysia Airlines). So, when airlines from these countries cancel flights from a region, it is basically no different than the government cancelling the flights. Regardless, the government has the right, and the responsibility for public safety. After 9/11 the government halted ALL flights from other countries, and within the US for more than a week, so it is not unprecedented.

Yea we in Oklahoma know what it means. We will shut our river border with you guys down to keep you guys out. We called the guard out once before to open it when you all tried to charge to cross it so it shouldn't be a issue to close it. Lol

The firefighter ambulance personnel who transported this Ebola infected person have been placed in isolation.
The U.S. State Dept. should have banned all travel to this country from West Africa. It's been long known and well established scientifically that isolation is effective in the prevention of the spread of deadly communicable diseases. All common sense has departed from our federal government.

Glenn Beck said a few weeks ago that Ebola has a really good chance of showing up in Texas and he was mocked and ridiculed by the progressive left media. His rational for this statement was that in Texas they have guards from the African continent that are always flying back home and then returning to work. This guy wasn't a guard, but he was a frequent traveler to Africa.

The bottom line is, if you really expect this federal government to protect you from anything, you are probably going to be disappointed.
If the Feds really had intentions to protect the population of this country, they would have shut down all travel to and from the source.

My original prediction is coming true. There is already another case of Ebola, and many more will follow. This is completely the fault of the federal government. They should have prevented ANYONE traveling from West Africa into this country months ago. How many hundreds or thousands of Americans will die now as a result? This epedimic was contained in a few African countries, and now it is here. Thank you feds.

I knew when I was watching the CDC on TV tell me how hard it was to contract the disease while on the split screen the network was showing health workers in Africa being hosed down with bleach in their hazmat suits with rubber gloves up to their elbows, that something did not ring true.

What we have to face is the reality that there are some in this country, perhaps even in our government, who are glad that this disease is here. It fits their narrative of social justice. Can anyone give one single argument as to why we did not, or do not now, prevent anyone into this country who is from one of the West African countries affected by this epidemic? Other than political correctness, I cannot come up with a single reason. But then again, why do we let people pour over the southern border?
