  • Cruiseman would like to book a Cruise

I think I read (on the internet)that you book cruises

I'm trying to convince my wife Nancy to go on a cruise over Christmas
to get away and actually enjoy this Holiday season.

She has never been on a cruise and is a little reluctant to go.
    I enjoy them.

    We recently married(three yeas ago).

Maybe I should not have told her I spent the honeymoon with wife 2 on a cruise.
I even told her we had a great outside suite and if we are lucky we could get the same suite

LOL, your last two sentences were not advisable. I have the same dilemma, was on a cruise with first wife and enjoyed it, second wife has never been. She definitely wants to go though.

I don't actually book or sell cruises, we run a cruise information website...http://www.CruiseReport.com

I have some good travel agent contacts I can refer you to when you are ready to book. Make sure you tell them you heard about them from CruiseReport.com. (they won't know who Cruiseman is)

My wife and I once won a drawing for cruise on a sailing vessel (Barefoot Cruises). Interestingly, a large sailboat was the only type of sea cruise I was really interested in, but that's not really part of the tale.

The fine print on the "free cruise" was that it was a standby trip. You could schedule it whenever you wished, but if they sold out, you had to reschedule. Well, departure for the one we wanted to go on was in Grenada, and we were responsible for our own air fare. Of course, scheduling air fare at the last minute is expensive, so we had to pick a time when the ship was not likely to sell out. I called, and they assured me that they never sell out for Christmas (note - regular cruise lines may be different). All our children were grown, and though there were a few grandkids around, it wasn't that many yet, so we decided to do it that week, and celebrated Christmas on the cruise.

It was fantastic!! All of the kids still got their presents (we gave them to the families before we left), and though we missed the traditional big family meal, they somehow survived without us. And the added bonus (again, those floating hotels may be different), the ship normally carried 68 passengers, but only 32 were booked, so we had lots of "special attention". In addition, even though all of the destinations observed Christmas, because they were tourist locations they were all open before and after Christmas day, and many were still open on Christmas day. Of course, all were far less crowded than normal.

        I'd definitely recommend it!

That was probably your first mistake. The second and even bigger mistake is the same suite comment. Heck you might as well ask wife number 2 to go. As they say "boy you in a heap of trouble"
