  • Awesome Video of a World Record being Broken

My wife and two of her sisters along with some of her friends participated in a fundraiser last Saturday that raised a ton of money for breast cancer research. The event took place on Fourth Lake in the Adirondack Mountains. Temperatures were in the 40's and it was windy and raining. 2718 kayaks and canoes got together to form a large raft. The video shows three hours compressed into 3 1/2 minutes. It is very, very cool! The picture in the next post shows the raft from an airplane... but watch the video, you won't be disappointed.

That is very cool. I had to go to Youtube so I could see it on a full screen and it is impressive. It looks like an ant hill with everyone going different directions and then suddenly they all come together. Great cause this went to.

                          A bit off topic, BUT - - - -

The wife and I were in upstate NY a year ago this past August. I had business in Geneva, NY. We drove from Wichita and decided to make a vacation out of the trip since we had not 'seen' very much of that part of the world.

Lake Seneca was BEAUTIFUL!!! The best past was the road down the western side (14, I think) had excellent views!

We really enjoyed the trip. We managed to see Niagara Falls, the Adirondacks (wasn't impressed. Couldn't see anything - road in the valleys), A little of Vermont and New Hampshire, and a slice of Mass.

                          Again, worth the trip.

                          Sorry for the hijack - - - -

I drive down 14 several times a year. It is indeed a beautiful drive.

The best time to see the Adirondacks is after the leaves fall. The Adirondack Park Authority is very restrictive so people can't take trees down to improve the views (even on private property). There are tons of beautiful lakes to see but they are mostly obscured by the leaves during the warm months.
