Protecting Sponsors?

I got this in an email from a friend who still frequents that other forum. He said it was posted about an hour ago and is from Moderator 3.

In order to protect this boards content and its sponsors the VS administrators were forced to make some temporary changes to the edit and delete functions. These changes are temporary. You can thank some current and former members here who posted on a competing site that it would be a great idea for the disgruntled folks here to delete all their content in order to cripple this boards functions. The fact that a competing board moderator allowed/condoned this idea is also a strong factor in the decisions that were made to protect VS assets. Just be patient our admins are the best in the business.

Here's my take on it,

Ahhhhh, at first I thought they may have meant this site but after reading again I realized they didn't mean us at all.
When you have the best site like theglforum there is no competition.
Oh well, the more discontent there is over there the more members appreciate being here.

It would seem that the MOD is admitting that they have a substantial group of disgruntled current membership still

I already addressed this in another thread, but let me address it one last time. I/we (meaning TheGLForum.com) have NEVER "allowed nor condoned" such activity. First of all, it is not up to us to allow or disallow any member of this forum to delete posts from another website. We have no control over what you do on another forum. As for condoning such activity, I would like to see where we have condoned members of this forum deleting content from another forum. I have never encouraged it, I have never suggested that anyone do it, and quite frankly, I am not sure why anyone would do it anyway. I am too busy trying to get people to post their crap over here, not delete their crap over there.

The members of this forum are not our children. It is not our responsibility to monitor what they do on other websites. I have enough problems trying to manage and keep up with what everyone is doing on this website.

VS is blocking you from deleting your threads because then NEED them as Data base numbers to sell to new sponsors.

They are just lying to them because some members have died, some have left and some got disgusted long ago and just stopped posting.

I took care of my old threads when Lamont was the owner. Beat VS/Mod 3 to the punch. Ha Ha De**is..lol

Just goes to show you how foolish they have become if they are stooping so low as to stop a member from deleting his own threads.

I hear "that stuff" makes the user EXTREMELY paranoid and feel like the world is out to get them. LOL. I have often said that "you just can't make this stuff up." So it would appear that some of you guys, who are members of several sites might now have your accounts locked down for simply being a member of another site. I can see the little guy in Florida now going through the members list here taking names and locking accounts down. It is most certainly a hoot for sure.

Does not ring true in any event as the VS forums do restrict deletion across the board on their other sites. Such as if you were to make a video on checking the valves it would remain unable to delete, however it is not restricted in being posted somewhere else by the original author.

I just check things out before I buy what is in the sack.
