What with all the talk about this site I thought I would come on over and have a look.
Some familiar members here I see.

          You are so right Rick.
That photo was taken at Rawene while waiting for the ferry. Its in there somewhere and will fix it.
The other photo is at Bluff on my TBA.

We rented a Goldwing and rode the north island back in 2007. What an amazing place. Hope to go back next year and spend a week riding the south island.

Yes we have quite a bit of god riding in North where I live, which is 2 hrs. from the vehicle ferry. It gets much better in the South. We do extended figure's of 8'S crossing the passes when we go for about 2 weeks in February.

If you can spare the time I would try to allow more than a week, as there is quite a bit to see and do, despite being very small on a world touring scale.

For instance we spent 1 week going around the Catlin's and poking around up the road-ends and beaches and booked a batch near Charleston for a few nights etc.

You may remember this spot, Cape Reinga, northern most tip of New Zealand. That white water is where 2 tidal currents meet.
