  • FNG from Bethany Ok

Hey all, I guess this makes it official, I am the FNG from Bethany Ok, a suburb of Oklahoma City for those that do not know. I enjoy living here, I am about 100 yards or so off Route 66. I recently (April 2014) purchased my first Goldwing, a 1996 Shinny Pearl Blue Aspencade that now has 108K miles on it, )92K when I purchased it). So far, this is the best bike I have owned.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. . . .

Thank you all for the warm welcome ! So far I like this forum, and I hope I can offer some decent input to the forum. I have been riding motorcycles for 20 plus years now, owning about 7 different bikes over the years, including my current bike ( '96 Goldwing A). let s see, what else. . . . . I was a member of a 1% TYPE club for 10 yrs, but left because I moved to a state we did not have a chapter and had no desire to open one. lol MOST all of my bikes have been DRESSERS, with the exception of a 1972 XS650, and a 1979 XS1100C, both great bikes, but I am spoiled and prefer my dressers. . . .

I have done about half a dozen QUALIFYING Iron Butt rides ( 1000 in 24 ), but never did the paperwork to make it official. I tend to decide, at the last min to go on my rides, like I will be talking to my brother who lives 350 miles away, and all the sudden will say, lets meet half way for lunch, and away I go, Or I will tell the wife, I am going for a short ride to clear my head after dealing with the kids all day, and next thing I know, I am 200 miles away, trying to decide, do I go farther or turn around and head home. . . lol Fortunately I do not have the income to allow me to do this more than about once a month or my wife might leave me !

Anyway, thats some about me, my riding style, and my riding history, if you care to know more, ask away. . . .

See you on the road !

Welcome aboard. If you're that close to Rt 66, you must be right next to my old alma mater - Southern Nazarene University (though it was Bethany Nazarene College "back then"). I was running around that town on my CB350 back in the mid-late 70's.

100 yards... well, at least it would be the girls' dorms. I think. Who knows any more, the way they've changed things around.
