  • Looking for a shifter lever for GL1500

I am helping a disabled fellow return to riding and he has a GL1500 (95) that the original owner installed a heal toe shifter and in the process removed the shifter lever. I need the level in order to install the Pingel Electric Shifter. If anyone has one, or knows is anyone, please let me know.

    Thanks.

Wheels, I have GL1500 that my son-in-law is swearing he's going to rebuild someday. If your friend will pay the postage, I'm willing to do a swap out on the shifters.

Mr. Parsons, I will be sure to pass this along to him. Been a bit busy around the house trying to get ready for the big chill. I will contact him today. Thanks very much for the offer and I will get back to you.

BTW, if he's interested in a straight trade, it might not hurt to post info on that. I don't particularly want a different shifter, since the bike is going to be given to my SiL, but there may be a 1500 rider out there that really would prefer a heel/toe shifter, and he might pay shipping, or at least part of the shipping.

Good morning Mr. Parsons and thanks again for your reply and offer. It appears that he was able to locate one at a local salvage yard. Plans to pick it up today and we will complete the install of his Pingel shifter this afternoon. He is really looking forward to getting back on a bike. I will see what his plans are for the heal/toe and post up if he would like to do something with it.

          Thanks again.
